Star Party August 19
Our Star Party was not as big in numbers as it was two weeks ago but big in results. First we had about 20 people show up to take a peek through our scopes. At sun set a lady shows up with a package and says, “Here are some Spitzer Space Telescope prints. My daughter heard that I was at your star party. She works at JPL and can get you some more items!!!” I gave her one of our new business cards with my e-mail address one it. She was in a hurry and left without giving me or her daughter’s name. This is one proof that we do make an impact on the public.
Our second big result came from Rob Dunbar. He has a low level TV camera hooked up to his telescope. A small monitor for general viewing. It works! The last 10 people to look through our scopes because of Rob’s TV showing Polaris as a double star! I am hoping he does a write up in detail on his equipment.
