On February 3rd I went to the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe council meeting. I was very well received. I told them that the Club’s focus was to assist in the science and discourage myths about the Solar Eclipse. One member (of eleven) wanted 20 boxes of our solar viewers. Another wanted me to contact the High School Principal and meet any of their needs. Basically the council voted 11-0 to grant permission for the club to contact their leaders. I intend to follow up on these items to be placed in the Eclipse Reno web site. 1. Make a link from their web site to Eclipse Reno. 2. Have a list of rules or regulations that Astronomical clubs must follow to be on the Indian Reservation. 3. To meet with the school principals (high/middle, and elementary) to inform the students on the event and how to safety watch the eclipse. 4. To be published in the local newspaper about the event and the safety to watch. 5. They should contact the Astronomical Society of the Pacific and Astronomy clubs in Utah on what they have to offer. The “ice” is broken and now comes the details on what to do.

Thanks Jim! Was there any discussion of where we might want to set up for a public observing session? Would members of the public need to "register" beforehand, or could they just show up as long as they followed the rules/regulations that will be posted?
