Optimus Template

We invite all ASN members (and those who would like to join) to come down to Wilson Commons Park in Washoe Valley on Saturday, September 24th, for a potluck BBQ!  This will be a great opportunity to commune with your fellow ASN members in the daylight and place a face to those strange voices that you often hear in the dark.  We plan to kick off around 4pm and will have the club's Coronado Ha solor scope set up for those wishing to take a look at our own sun.  Have a telescope sitting in a closet at home that you don't know how to use?  This is a great opportunity to bring it out so we can help you set it up and get it ready for use later that evening (or at least give it our best try).  Bring meat to grill and a side dish for dinner; we will provide soda and water.  After dinner we will finish setting up for (hopefully) cloud-free sky observing of many later summer and early autumn objects like the Veil Nebula, the Andromeda Galaxy, Jupiter and many other member favorites.  Can't stay out that late?  That's OK, we'd still love to see you for dinner!
